I was thinking about my old collaboration fanfic with my former partner, ToaArcan, Sonic and the Freedom Fighters. Looking back, it could have been better. Why do I think this? Well, here are some examples:

- one-dimensional personalities

- real-life pop culture actually existing on Mobius

- Excessive... kinkiness (I have this thing for stomachs, and there are several dream sequences that are a tad dirty).

- Sometimes condescending narration (example: slightly-less-than-airworthy plane

- plot holes (Buns and Patch getting captured by the Freedom Fighters, and somehow getting back to Robotropolis later)

- Anubis (I was too apathetic to tell my partner that my OC was simply named after Anubis)

- Violations of common sense (Lying down and resting in the middle of a fight? Really?)

- Too many sub-plots

- OC's who never had their story arcs explored (because ToaArcan hated OC's being of any importance)

- One of my OC's having a crush on Lupe (in hindsight, it was actually kind of creepy)

- Emerl being overpowered

- unnecessary changes to the Sonic Adventure arc

- The Sonic Adventure 2 arc happening before the Sonic Adventure arc

- There was also this thing with WereTails and WereFiona which I won't go into detail (but I definitely don't remember coming up with it)

- Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles having Chaos powers and already knowing about Chaos Control, and Already using it, too, before encountering Shadow

- The self-awareness of the characters got a little annoying, and so did the whole usage of TV Tropes terms in their vocabulary

- Enerjak wanting Sally as a concubine. (WHAT WAS I THINKING?!)

- Dan liked Metallix a little too much, because he was really powerful and even convinced most of the Dark Legion to join him

- Scourge being the story's punching bag (I know Dan hates Scourge, but there was no need to make him the butt of jokes)

So, yeah. It wasn't the best, plus, we got tired of it eventually, and from what I learned by reading his comments a long time ago, he doesn't do collabs anymore (why he never told me himself is beyond me). But that's okay. I lost interest in partnering with him, anyway (and one of my friends asked me not to talk to him again).

But if other people like it, that's fine.

Edit: However, things have changed, and most of the elements in SATFF that I am not proud of will not be used in my future Sonic fics, if I ever get back to writing Sonic fics. Same goes for Mecha Sally Epilogue (for starters, change the title to Endgame 2.0 and read up on the source material. Turns out Sonic, Tails, and Amy were already on the Death Egg before the Second Genesis Wave. See what happens when you write a fanfic based on something you haven't fully read/watched/played/etc.?)
